Compassionate eyes are a beautiful things. When we are wronged, we have the opportunity to look on the perceived offender with eyes of mercy. Webster’s definition of mercy: compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one’s power. Operating with a heart of mercy and compassion is a gift. It allows us to meet the other where they are at and release grace. It adds no value to our lives to hold onto an offense, a hurt, or a pain. We have the opportunity to practice compassion and mercy – and it’s a wonderful freedom. Release the hurt to the Lord and in turn, release the person that has wronged you. Is there somebody you feel stirred to forgive today? Go for it. Forgive with a heart of compassion and mercy.
